DINGO'S EXTENDED STALL

Dingo has become very philosophical over the last few weeks, and has requested that his new stall be decorated, not in pictures of himself and his donkey friends, but with philosophical quotations. And so it is that this page comes to pass. If you would prefer to see pictures of donkeys on this page (???), then Bingo and Bongo, Dingo's twin brothers (they are twins, not his twins) will be more than happy to open their stall, which is decorated with pictures.

Here, I will open three subjects each week for quotation, before archiving them in some rarely visited vault. This week's subjects are:

K

"I believe in God, only I spell it Nature" - Frank Lloyd Wright

"If God lived on earth, people would break his windows" - Jewish proverb

"If God did not exist, it would be necessary to invent him" - Voltaire

"If only God would give me some clear sign! Like making a large deposit in my name in a Swiss bank" - Woody Allen

"Death is better, a milder fate than tyranny" - Aeschylus, from Agamemnon

"Life is pleasant. Death is peaceful. It's the transition that's troublesome" - Issac Asimov

"For three days after death hair and fingernails continue to grow but phone calls taper off" - Johnny Carson

"Never knock on Death's door: ring the bell and run away! Death really hates that!" - Matt Frewer, as Dr. Mike Stratford in "Doctor, Doctor"

"I am careful not to confuse excellence with perfection. Excellence, I can reach for; perfection is God's business" - Michael J. Fox

"Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away" - Antoine de Saint Exupery

"Try as hard as we may for perfection, the net result of our labors is an amazing variety of imperfectness. We are surprised at our own versatility in being able to fail in so many different ways" - Samuel McChord Crothers
