This section of Pig Bay will be devoid of humourous images and sound effects (although there will, in time, be some serious clips to accompany articles) and be entirely serious. For that reason, if you are at all prone to shocks, you should call an ambulance, or press the "back" button on you browser.
I will publish here an assortment of newspaper articles and my own editorial writing. The current serious content is the Times article on the Yazidis, kindly contributed by Matt Hann. My own editorials will take the shape of "The Democracy Series", 5 essays on democracy in different parts of the world. July 6th should see part 1 published, entitled "Family Affairs - Modern Democracy and Corruption in the United States". The other 4 will explore China and the ex-USSR, Latin America, ex-colonial Africa and Asia, and European Party Politics.
